Featured Ferrari: the 250 GT Short Wheelbase Berlinetta (SWB)
From 1959 to 1962 and beyond, these dual purpose berlinettas were Ferrari’s must-have GT car if anyone wanted to race – from professional pilot to gentleman driver, from the local hill climb to the Le Mans 24 hours. It could do it all - it had speed, torque, agility, reliability, endurance – and you could drive it to the store.
In addition, many consider the SWB as one of the best designs to ever grace a Ferrari chassis – neat, compact, purposeful, not an ounce of fat.
To commemorate 60 years of the glorious 250 GT SWB, Cavallino is honoring them in 2019.
Saturday - 250 GT SWBs are encouraged to enter the Concorso d’Eleganza at The Breakers, for
judging or display - owners’ choice. We will have several classes dedicated solely to the SWBs and remember, if judged, the car is judged only against itself.
250 GT SWBs are also urged enter all the other functions of the Classic - track, tour, Classic Sports Sunday - where they will be honored as well.
Cavallino has covered the 250 GT SWB extensively over the years. See all the issues here and note our special offer.
